Vaccination and Visas for Namibia are not required for holders of many European countries including Switzerland, Germany and the UK. Other nationalities should check before travelling. Please ensure you have a one full blank page in your passport. If you are transiting through South Africa you may require a transit visa. Please check before travelling. When travelling via South Africa, you will pass through immigration. New regulations, as of the 1st October 2014, mean that children under 18 will have to have an unabridged birth certificate showing the names of both parents. If the child is travelling with only one parent they will need to have an affidavit from the other parent, of no more than 3 months old, confirming the child can travel with the other partner; a court order granting full legal guardianship of the child; or a death certificate of the deceased parent. There are no mandatory vaccination requirements. Recommended vaccinations are: Polio, Tetanus, Diphtheria, Typhoid, Hepatitis A. Malaria prophylaxis is necessary when travelling to certain areas in Namibia. We suggest that you seek advice from your GP or travel health clinic about which malaria tablets are most suitable.

The tours are ridden on good dirt/gravel roads and on two track farm trails. The tour is a safari that travels about 2500 km over a two week period. Some of the routes are rides from one overnight spot to the next. Other rides are on trails that take us off road and into the hills. On custom tours you may determine the preferred riding roads and trails

We bike the lesser travelled roads and trails. We seldom come into contact with cars on our tours. The tour is a nature experience meaning that we are mostly off the beaten track away from people and cars.

The tour is a nature experience through the most beautiful areas of Namibia. We seldom come across people on our tours. A custom tour can be booked if you would like the tour to focus on culture and experiencing the local people of Namibia.

Namibia has a wide variety of wild animals including the Big 5. We will view many of these from the saddles of our bikes. We need not be afraid as the animals are more afraid than people and disappear before we come too close. The bike tour travels through Northwestern Namibia, home to desert-adapted elephant, black rhinocerous and desert lion.

Namibia has summer rainfall which mainly falls during the hot months, November through to March. From April to October we have our cooler months with a fairly chilly winter around June and July. A bike tour would make most sense from April to September.

Namibia is well known for our good quality meat and a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables. Whether we overnight in lodges or in camping, we offer fine meals with fresh salads and cold drinks.

You are driven to Gocheganas Nature Reserve in the countryside south of Windhoek. The reserve is found in the Auas Mountains, a scenic and wildlife rich area, the farm has numerous roads and trails that we will bike on. The objective is to enjoy the biking whilst having the opportunity to view the animals that can be found in this area. After some enjoyable riding, we enjoy a glass of champagne and a finger lunch at the lodge, before returning to Windhoek around 14:00.
